First Responder - Emergency Medical Technician
This 130 hour program is for students who are interested in firefighter/first responder work or as a prerequisite to various work in the field of medicine. This certification is an accredited EMT certificate course and students who pass the National Registry become elegible to work as an EMT in any state in the US.
Advanced Career options in this industry include: EMT, Paramedic, Firefighter/EMT, EMT Dispatcher, Flight Paramedic and Ambulance Driver.
City of Big Bear Lake Fire Department
Course is 10-11 weeks and classes are scheduled 4 hours twice a week plus 6 hours every other Sunday. Each Student will serve a 12- hour shift in the ER of a hospital after passing the final exam.

Orientation Date: July 20, 2011 @ 9:30 am - 3:00 pm at the Career Institute Mountain offices in Lake Arrowhead (lunch provided).
